Fetal Positions
First off, the Fetus-X Fan Club on Yahoo has just absolutely exploded lately. There are now over 400 memebers! That makes it the most popular comic strip club in all of Yahoo, and the best place to meet fellow fetus fans and debate gender issues, pre-capitalist philosophy, and jokes about erections. And check out the listing of most popular clubs - we're number one! Higher than Peanuts, Garfield, even Calvin and Hobbes! We're also higher than most crack addicts. Except it's a natural high. And we owe it all to you, the fans. And speaking of fans, it seems everytime Casey and I venture out we can't help but stumble into a few of you. A few days ago we went out to a restaurant where the waitress just happens to be a huge fan, the guy in the booth in the corner is telling us how cool we are and to "keep fighting the power," and then on the way out I go to the restroom and find "www.FetusX.com" scrawled across the wall! Strong work! And speaking of strong work you guys are doing, get this: The Fetus-X Web site is more popular than ever before. We have more vistors coming to the site now then we ever did at the height of the State News censorship hysteria. The number of hits we get per month basically doubles every two months. And you know what? We don't have a damn thing to do with it. It's all you. We don't have any marketing department or advertising campaign. The only way we have to bring new fetus lovers into the fold is when one fetus lover spreads the word to another, and you guys are doing a hell of a job spreading the word. Keep it the fuck up. Speaking of words, check this e-mail I got: Great site. ok, the mandatory ass kiss is now out of the way. firstly, on the merchandise tip i think you should put the tipper gore poster on a t. the whole damn thing. maybe a little fetus or fetusx on the front and then the poster on the back. it might also be cool if you guys made some posters up for decoration of dorm rooms. right now i have to rely on printing this stuff out and then slamming it up in my room. i have the tipper poster on my door. it's phat. also, i had a comment for the site in general. could you maybe make an easier way to go through all the old comics? maybe with frames or pages that you can leaf through, each with a toon on it. just an idea. anyways, keep up the good fight! this site is beautifully twisted. i've been a fan since i first checked it out after seeing something about it on a rave slip. i'm a student at Alma College so your reach is spreading past MSU which is cool for you i'm guessing. anyways, keep up the great work. ben Thanks for the words, Ben. We get a lot of mail looking for posters, color comics, back patches, tattoo designs - damn near anything fetus. Nobody'd love to see you sporting all that cool gear more than we would, but even we insomniacs have only so many hours in the day. The only thing I can say is soon, soon, soon. And anything you guys can do to help - whether it be sending us your ideas, offering use of your print facilities, whatever - is always hugely appreciated. We may be doing a poster for a zine soon, and then we'll sell larger versions through our site, but that's at least a month away. As far as the new shirts go, I just shot some new t-shirt photos, so look for a redesigned, all-new merchandise page real damn quick! As far as the site navigation goes, yeah, we're working on that, too, but again we've only got so many hours between our day jobs and our rock and roll comics drawing lifestyles. If any budding HTML fiends out there want to design Fetus-X comics pages with "next" and "back" arrows, and a form mail script so people can e-mail the strips to each other, hey, bring it on. We'd be happy to share one of our non-existant pay checks with you. And "spreading past MSU" being cool? Hell, yeah. Check out this next letter from Mark who is a little farther away than MSU.
Hey, I understand if I dont get the book, but I'll understand even better if I do, thanx for creating fetusx, and showing me.... the light. Thanks Mark for the tremendous props. And I hope you and everyone else in Singapore is enjoying the shirts! Thanks again for writing in, Ben and Mark. Anyone else got something to say? E-mail dudes@fetusx.com. Keep your fetus cool,
